In late summer, 2009, the OAAOM noted that the Physical Therapy Licensing Board approved the use of Dry Needling for Physical Therapists.  Dry Needling is trigger point – or Ashi acupuncture. The OAAOM worked with the Oregon Medical Board and the Acupuncture Committee in an effort to have the approval reassessed.  Progress is still being made in this area.
