Lyn has been a family physician since 1998. She moved to Oregon as a National Health Service Corps Scholar and began working for Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center where she remains today. She is deeply committed to providing quality health care to the under served and has helped bring over 1300 babies into this world.
Over the last 10 years she has worked to transform her allopathic (traditional western medicine) degree into a holistic practice of medicine. She has worked in concert with her colleagues to bring integrative practices focusing on nutrition and functional medicine to the community clinic.
Lyn and her husband Juvencio created “La Finquita del Buho” CSA farm in Helvetia in the year 2000. They have grown from 7 founding members to over 90 member families and provide weekly organic vegetables to over 300 people from their 2 acre farm. They raise grass fed beef and lamb, pork, and have a herd of over 20 goats. They offer fresh cut flowers and free range eggs to their customers as well. They plan several community wide events from canning parties to La Finquita’s annual Harvest Celebration each year. She also sells cut flower bouquets, plant starts, and hand crafted wreaths at the Beaverton Farmers Market.
Lyn is the proud mother of 3 children ages 10, 14, and 17 and can be heard on the soccer or lacrosse field shouting in support of one of her stars.
